DESCRIPTION
First of all I have to say that no photo can do justice to the piece. I also bought it from a photo - I was impressed from the contrast, the combination and the aesthetic assemble - and then I received the specimen and unpacked it - I was so surprised how good it actually is. Although I think that I am a good photographer, I was not able to photograph it in a way that makes it look as good as natural. It is really an outstanding piece.
The Ilvaite formed a spray, they show dull coarse grained faces and all crystals are end-pointed. Their color is almost black. And on it - completely exposed - you can see this huge, free-standing Arsenopyrite. It measures about 47 x 43mm. The edges and the tiny steps are curved and all these uncountable micro-steps are razor-sharp. The luster is incredible - it is like a silvery sun. "Lustrous“ is pure understatement - it is like a disco-ball, sparkling, like thousands of tiny mirrors. So you have a spectacular contrast - highly lustrous to dull, silver to black. And the Arsenopyrite is free-standing; the sides and the reverse are on same high quality and only the bottom of the Arsenopyrite is on the Ilvaite - so this remarkable, amazing crystal is completely free-standing. The assemble couldn´t be more aesthetic and the tri-dimensional visual impact is incredible when you hold it in your own hands. In perfect condition all around and very showy in each angle
