DESCRIPTION
Hard to find words for something which already looks perfect on the photo. The crystal in 38mm on edges and 52mm from corner to corner AND it is complete and sharp terminated all around. Usually material from Berbes are front-side pieces, always contacted or extracted at the backside. Crystal like this in this dimension are nearly never complete all around. It is not just good in one angle! All faces show this amazing texture and all faces are lustrous! Further you can see a sharp terminated modification of rhomb along all edges. The crystal shows excellent translucency. Of course there are these completely „glassy“ crystals from Berbes, but these are small, 1 or 2cm on edges. And this is a 5cm crystal which is really perched on matrix. The color is superb – dark violet sharp zoning and there areas between tend more to blue (the different steps of color are better visible in person). Below the lower corner of the Fluorite you can see two sharp blades of Baryte. They are very light with just a touch of ivory color. The grey matrix is covered with micro-crystals of Quartz (smaller than 1mm) - they are sparkling under the right angle of light. Again – the crystal is a sharp complete cube and complete all around! Nothing else than „perfect“ would do justice to this piece. I really had a lot of material from Berbes. Many Austrian Strahlers worked very successful in this area for years. I think Austria is the country were most of the best Fluorites from Spain arrived. I know so many old discoveries, I had so many boxes full of Spanish Fluorites - but this one was one of the very best I ever had.
