DESCRIPTION

A lagendary excavation in 2007 yielded a small but stunning find of Fluorite specimens that made its way into the pantheon of true mineral classics: the "Alien Eye" Fluorites. The main crystal is 66mm on edges - which is really an exceptional dimension. Via front-side you can see a sharp terminated, significant Alien phantome. The phantom is also visible via the top and to the right hand side - but only a part of it. There is nothing broken, but during their genesis these Fluorites were wedged between large Quartz crystals - so at the sides and at the reverse the crystal simple has not enough room to grow. You can see the negative imprints of the Quartz crystals.
The corners show modifications of octahedron - this combination of hexaeder and octahedron is typical for the discovery. The specimen shows an more uncommon good luster, most times faces are more dull. Further you can see a very attractive texture on the faces. The translucency is good - I used minor backlight for my photo, but even daylight is enough when you hold it in your own hands to see the green phantom. Below the main crystal to the right hand side you can see a sharp terminated, glossy Quartz crystal - this is uncommon; usually the crystals came down from Quartz during genesis and you only have single crystals or clusters.
The lower half consists of a second Alien-Fluorite, which has less room to grow - but you can see clearly the corners of the phantom and this amazing green color. This crystal was squeezed between Quartz crystals and shows imprints of Quartz on both sides. It reminds a little bit to a golf-club.
There are no significant damages to report, all what you see on sides or reverse are contacts with Quartz, in fact the specimen is developed as floater.
