Chondrodite is a very rare member of the humite-group of silicates and is an uncommon accessory species from Afghanistan. A few years ago, some very impressive red color chondrodites were found in Afghanistan in the same area where the famous lapis lazuli is mined, probably the only locality world-wide that produced crystals in same high quality and dimension as the famous Tilly Foster mine in New York. Only a low number exist from Pakistan and this is an exceptional specimen with sharp termination and crazy intense red color with minor backlight. Should be high valued for rarity and quality.
