DESCRIPTION
Did you ever see a Fluorite from Brazil? I did - exactly 2 times in my life! They are really very rare, around 3cm tall and the only interesting thing about them was their habit, their color was something like grey-green. When I saw this particular piece I was really completely surprised - never expected something like this from Brazil. The specimen is from a small isolated discovery from Fazenda do Centro - this locality is usually well known for Topaz, but not at all for Fluorite. This is absolutely unique material!
Let me explain the assemble: At the base there are two huge smoky quartz crystals - partly glossy, but sharp terminated, translucent and in light brown color. Between the crystals and also underneath the Fluorite you can see a little bit of Feldspat var Amazonite. And then this Fluorite: it shows a crazy good, intense dark blue color, I would compare to the best blue we know from Blanchard Mines in New Mexico (this is even the same tone of blue and intensity is also similar).
The faces of the crystals show a very attractive texture, which reminds to a labyrinth of light zonings. It is really fantastic - even from most other localities this would be a very fine piece; but for Brazil it is absolutely incredible! I show two different angles - first photo is front-display, second more from the side.
