Garnet (M752)
In Austria we have a locality in Alps, which produced garnets up to 5cm - which is already very large. But Kayes in Mali produced a low number of crystals in this incredible dimension - a garnet - in this case - Andradite in 14cm diameter is fantastic. The crystal is very dark, almost black, all terminations are razor sharp and all faces are glossy with a very attractive texture. A relatively small area at the reverse was on the rock, but healed. A smaller side crystal is inter-grown to the right hand side - which is in same high condition. Undamaged.
