Gypsum (M754)
A huge free-standing Gypsum crystal - sharp terminated and very glossy - attractively set on very dark matrix. The Gysum is transparent, not water-clear but you can see through it. The faces show an attractive texture. The matrix is pseudomorph - it is Quartz after Calcite. Along the edges you can see a light framing - these are tiny Calcite crystals of second generation. The specimen is developed as floater and undamaged.
