Fluorite (M521)
This is great Austrian classic! The locality was discovered in 1976, only a small number of pieces were discovered. Later on field-collecting was prohibited and no crystals were found since decades! So even "common" crystals from the locality represent a great rarity. But this is not a common crystal at all - all material is lavender to purple. Even for me as Fluorite collector and collector of Austrian minerals since 40 years this specimen is a unique surprise. I even know the collection of the discovere of the locality, I know the material in private collections and museums - and I never saw something compare-able. This crystal is small - but it is not even a second one like this; it´s ONE of a kind. The specimen was in a collection of a local field-collector, who digged at only this one locality for several years and also he has only this one piece. It is a colorless crystal with blue center, which is framed with a thin, razor sharp purple zoning, which is 13 mm on edges.
