Already the locality was a challenge - very difficult to figure out more. The mountain had different names during centuries - Oltschihorn, Oltschikopf and Oltschiburg. On Mindat you can find the locality as „Oltschiburg), but the reported locality is Oltschihorn - a mountain (2234m) near the village Brienz. The locality is historic, no discoveries since over 100 years!  The last report about Fluorite from Oltschiburg was at a meeting of the Society for Nature-Research Bern at February 16th in 1889. The first documentation of Fluorite from Oltschiburg was in the book „Mineralien des Schweizerlandes“ from Gottlieb Sigmund Grune in the year 1775. Since 1830 the locality produced Fluorite for the glass-industry (in 1830 21 kg, but until 1889 around 10t overall during 59 years), the well known Zeiss-company got Fluorite from Oltschiburg as flux agent for glass melting. After 1889 the locality was no more longer productive, only a few discoveries of Fluorite for collectors were reported; as mentioned above the last one in 1889.  In 2013 an author from Switzerland (Ueli Wengar) discovered old manuscripts and visited the locality. He discovered a few tiny fragments of broken crystals - that was all. What we have here is wel shaped cube with lustrous, crazy texture and light green color and healed, etched reverse. Will come with a historic label from 1889.
