Rhodochrosite on Quartz with Calcite (M792)
The specimen consits of Quartz crystals - most of them are completely covered with Rhodochrosite. The Rhodochrosite shows a much better concentration of pink color as we usually know from the locality! And on these Rhodochrosite covered Quartz crystals you can see numerous tiny spherical Calcite aggregates in snow-white color. And a small area is not covered with Rhodochrosite where you can see the milky Quartz crystals underneath. This is an excellent sample of Rhodochroste and combination of minerals and of high relevance for the famous locality!
