Quartz, var. Gwindel (315)

Scheuchzerhorn, Oberaar glacier,Grimsel area, Bern, Switzerland

5,0 x 3,3 x 1,6 cm

The specimen is of very fine clarity, it shows dark smoky color and is very lustrous all over. Termination is very sharp and it is a closed Gwindel, which is much more rare. Transperency is on very high level, too - I would say barely flawless. Also the locality (Scheuchzerhorn mountain) is not very common. No contacts, no damages, no Chlorite! Only a small section of the bottom was on the rock.
