Fluorite (924)

Stubner Kogel, Gastein Valley, Salzburg, Austria

7,1 x 6,1 x 5,7 cm

Gastein Valley is famous for alpine green fluorite octahedrons. There are several discoveries, where fluorites in different colors (mainly different shades of green), sizes and quantities have been found. This specimen comes from the new find which has just been published in the Lapis issue Jg. 42 Nr.10 Okt. 2017. This particular specimen shows very attractive apple-green color. This particular specimen is very uncommon, most pieces show intergrown crystal, but this one shows isolated crystals on matrix. These octahedrons are sharp terminated and up to 18mm across.
