Fluorite (922)

Rieding Lake, Weisseck, Lungau, Salzburg, Austria

6,8 x 5,1 x 3,7 cm

This is an exceptional specimen for the locality. Usually Fluorite from Rieding Lake is green and developed clusters or not aesthetic groups of intergrown crystals. What we have here is an isoalted crystals in light blue color - it is up to 30mm on edges, complete all around and even the quality is much better than material on average. Also the combination with Quartz is quite uncommon. A contact (from a former intergrown Quartz crystal) is present along one edge backside, overall it is in fine condition for this locality. Field collecting at Rieding Lake is prohibited since decades, so this piece represents a great rarity.
