|The prominent minerals from Knappenwand are - of course - Epidote and Byssolithe. A rare mineral and combination is Apatite. But this specimen features an outstanding rarity - Calcite! This combination of Epidote with Calcite is absolutely exceptional! The Calcite crystals are dark and shows a touch of green - caused by inclusions of Byssolithe. The Epidote crystals surround the Calcite in the center. They are sharp terminated and highly lustrous. They are not repaired like too many specimen from more recent finds. An outstanding, unique specimen for collectors of alpine minerals! No significant damages to report.
